Promethean, a subsidiary of Mynd.ai, Inc. (MYND), has partnered with Google to introduce a new Chromebox OPS compute device that seamlessly integrates with Promethean's interactive flat panel displays (IFPDs). This development enables the transformation of touchscreens into ChromeOS devices with a simple plug-in installation, providing an enhanced user experience for the education sector.
The Promethean Chromebox OPS offers several features tailored for educational institutions, including seamless integration with ActivPanel displays. Users gain access to Promethean ActivSuiteâ„¢ applications, such as Explain Everything whiteboard, Spinner, Timer, Annotate, and Screen Share Receiver. The device is managed via the Google Admin console, ensuring automatic updates and built-in virus protection, which simplifies IT maintenance and improves security.
This new solution will be showcased at the ChromeOS Experience Center in San Jose, California, and at the ISTELive 25 event in San Antonio, Texas, from June 29 to July 2. Educational institutions can benefit from the device's cost-efficiency by upgrading or replacing the compute module independently of the display panels, thereby extending the hardware lifecycle.
