DigitalOcean Holdings, Inc. (DOCN), a leader in scalable cloud solutions, has announced the introduction of new GPU Droplets powered by the NVIDIA RTX 4000 Ada Generation, RTX 6000 Ada Generation, and L40S GPUs. This move is set to enhance their cloud platform by providing powerful graphics and AI capabilities. By incorporating NVIDIA’s advanced GPU technology, DigitalOcean aims to lower the barrier to AI adoption and empower the development of AI-enabled applications.

The new GPU offerings are designed to support a range of demanding workloads, including generative AI, large-language model inference, small-model training, 3D graphics, and video processing. The addition of these GPUs to DigitalOcean’s platform complements the existing NVIDIA H100 GPU Droplets and H200 Bare Metal GPUs, offering customers greater flexibility and competitive pricing options.

Key features of the GPUs include the NVIDIA RTX 4000 Ada Generation GPU, which excels in content creation and modeling tasks, and the NVIDIA RTX 6000 Ada Generation GPU, which integrates state-of-the-art CUDA, Tensor, and RT cores suitable for virtual workstations and AI applications. The NVIDIA L40S GPU, with up to eight L40S Tensor Core GPUs and DLSS 3.0 technology, is optimal for intensive graphics and rendering needs.

DigitalOcean’s Chief Product and Technology Officer, Bratin Saha, emphasized the simplicity and efficiency offered by the new GPU Droplets, highlighting the ease of setup and broad access to DigitalOcean’s comprehensive product suite, including their GenAI Platform and Kubernetes service.

With these advancements, DigitalOcean continues to position itself as a key player in the cloud services sector, making it more accessible for enterprises to deploy and manage advanced AI workloads. The GPU Droplets are currently available in DigitalOcean’s Toronto data center, and more information on these offerings can be found on the DigitalOcean website.
