Sun Life Financial Inc. (TSX: SLF) (NYSE: SLF) has announced an increase in its quarterly dividend for common shareholders. The company has declared a dividend of $0.88 per common share, representing a 4 cent increase from the previous quarter's dividend. The dividend is scheduled to be paid on June 30, 2025, to shareholders of record as of May 28, 2025.

In addition to the common share dividend, Sun Life has also declared dividends on its Class A Non-Cumulative Preferred Shares. The payments on these preferred shares will range from $0.114063 to $0.312142 per share, and will also be payable on June 30, 2025, to shareholders of record as of May 28, 2025. The series affected include Series 3, 4, 5, 8R, 9QR, 10R, and 11QR.

Sun Life continues to support its Canadian Dividend Reinvestment and Share Purchase Plan. Under this plan, common shares are purchased by the plan agent on the open market through the Toronto Stock Exchange and other Canadian trading platforms. By designating these dividends as eligible dividends, Sun Life ensures they qualify for favorable tax treatment under Canadian tax law.
