  • Argyle Resources Corp. (ARLYF, Financial) completes phase 1 of exploration at Matapedia silica project.
  • 157 rock samples analyzed to detect high-purity silica zones.
  • Extensive geochemical and mineralogical data to support future quarry development.

Argyle Resources Corp. (ARLYF) has successfully completed phase 1 of its lithogeochemical and mineral characterization campaign at the Matapédia property located in the St. Moise region of eastern Québec. The initiative aimed to identify high-purity silica zones, critical for high-tech and industrial applications.

A total of 157 rock samples were collected and analyzed using advanced methods including photography, density measurements, magnetic susceptibility, colorimetry, and hyperspectral reflectance analysis. The program was conducted in collaboration with the Institut National de la Recherche Scientifique (INRS).

In addition to these analyses, Argyle conducted portable X-ray fluorescence (XRF) analyses to detect silica impurities such as Fe₂O₃, TiO₂, K₂O, Al₂O₃, and CaO. A bulk of 150 kg sample along with four additional 25 kg samples were processed for particle size distribution and mineralogical testing at INRS' pilot plant facility in St-Lambert-de-Lauzon.

Furthermore, the company completed a comprehensive study of 216 samples from 11 distinct lines intersecting quartzite outcrops. These efforts will inform future quarry site selection as Argyle aims to tap into the industrial silica market.

"By integrating lithogeochemical data with optical and spectral measurements, we are building a comprehensive toolkit for mapping silica-rich zones using satellite and drone imagery," said Marc Richer-Lafleche, project leader at INRS and advisor to the company. This approach is set to enhance real-time decision-making for Argyle's field teams.

Jeff Stevens, CEO of Argyle, expressed optimism about the economic potential of their silica assets, positioning the company at the forefront of high-purity silica exploration in Canada.

Argyle Resources Corp. (ARLYF, Financial) continues to work towards advancing its silica projects across Québec, with a comprehensive strategy that combines technological and field-based methodologies to evaluate and develop its mineral resources.
