Palantir Technologies (PLTR, Financials) said its mission-driven culture and early commitment to building AI for national defense are now paying off, as U.S. institutions adopt its software at a rapid pace.
First-quarter revenue rose to $884 million, up 39% from a year ago. Total U.S. revenue hit $628 million, up 55% year over year. Commercial revenue in the U.S. jumped 71% to $255 million, while government revenue rose 45% to $373 million.
CEO Alex Karp wrote that the company's longstanding focus on building software for the U.S. military — once viewed as controversial — has become a tailwind. He framed Palantir as a counterweight to what he called a “performative” tech industry, saying the company is built for results, not consensus.
Palantir's identity as a builder of high-impact systems for defense and intelligence may now be a competitive advantage, particularly as governments and critical industries move quickly to deploy artificial intelligence at scale.
