Universal Robots, a leader in collaborative robotics, has introduced its newest and fastest collaborative robot, the UR15, at the Automate Show in Detroit. The UR15 is now available for orders with deliveries starting in June. This state-of-the-art cobot reaches a top speed of 5 meters per second, offering substantial improvements in productivity and cost efficiency for a wide range of industries.
The UR15 delivers up to a 30% reduction in cycle time for pick-and-place applications compared to other models in the Universal Robots portfolio. Despite its high speed, the UR15 retains the company’s hallmark lightweight design and compact footprint, making it ideal for operations in confined spaces.
Equipped with OptiMove, the latest motion control technology from Universal Robots, the UR15 ensures smooth trajectories and accuracy, even in high-speed or high-payload applications. It operates on the PolyScope X software platform and is AI-ready, facilitated by the UR AI Accelerator developed in collaboration with NVIDIA, utilizing NVIDIA Isaac’s CUDA-accelerated libraries.
The UR15 is engineered to serve various sectors, including automotive, metal, machining, electronics, and tech. It offers enhanced protection with an IP65 rating and a payload capacity of 15 kg, extendable to 17.5 kg for specific applications. With this launch, Universal Robots continues to push boundaries in collaborative automation, providing flexible, efficient, and reliable solutions for its global customer base.
