Alpha and Omega Semiconductor Limited (AOSL) has announced the release of its latest innovative product, the AOZ98252QI, a dual-output 8-phase controller engineered for effective power management in graphics and desktop systems. This new controller offers low quiescent power, supporting AMD's AM5 desktop and Navi44/48 graphics platforms, thereby enhancing energy efficiency in next-generation systems.
The AOZ98252QI features AMD SVI3 high-speed and SMBus digital interfaces. It is designed with AOS's Advanced Transient Modulator (A2TM) technology, which provides variable frequency hysteretic peak current mode control. This ensures fast transient response and optimal current balance for both transient and DC loads. Additionally, this design aims to reduce component count and lower BOM costs, facilitating streamlined design processes.
Engineered to meet AMD SVI3 2.0 specifications, the AOZ98252QI also supports programmable settings through an intuitive GUI or customized Embedded Control (EC), which minimizes manual solder rework during development. Furthermore, it offers robust protection features such as UVP, OVP, OCP, and OTP, alongside real-time telemetry information via SMBus.
Designed for compatibility with AOS's DrMOS Power Stages, such as the AOZ5310NQI-A and AOZ5517QI-03, this power solution delivers a cost-effective, high-performance core power solution that aligns with advanced graphics and computing systems' requirements. The AOZ98252QI is immediately available in production quantities, with a lead time ranging from 12-16 weeks, at a unit price starting at $2.95 for 1,000-piece orders.
