Lenovo (LNVGY, Financial) has announced the launch of ThinkShield Solutions, a new line of security offerings designed to bolster the cybersecurity defenses of small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs), schools, and organizations with limited IT resources. These entities often face heightened risks due to less robust security infrastructures compared to larger institutions.
SMBs and educational institutions are frequently targeted by cybercriminals, with SMBs bearing an average cost of $255,000 per incident. Schools face significant threats due to their vast repositories of sensitive student data, with ransomware attacks costing an estimated $53 billion in downtime from 2018 to September 2023.
ThinkShield Solutions employ a multi-layered security approach, offering advanced defenses like ThinkShield Extended Detection & Response (XDR), ThinkShield Data Defense Select, and ThinkShield Hardware Defense. These tools, powered by AI-driven technologies, aim to streamline threat management, automate response strategies, and enhance data protection through file encryption and multi-factor authentication.
