Tencent Holdings (0700, Financial) announced its financial results for the first quarter of 2025, ending March 31. The company reported a 13% year-over-year increase in revenue, reaching 180 billion yuan. Profit attributable to equity holders rose by 14% to 47.8 billion yuan, while non-IFRS profit saw a 22% increase to 61.3 billion yuan.
The value-added services segment generated 92.1 billion yuan, marking a 17% growth. This includes domestic gaming revenue of 42.9 billion yuan, up 24%, and international gaming revenue of 16.6 billion yuan, up 23%. Social network income increased by 7% to 32.6 billion yuan.
Marketing services revenue grew by 20% to 31.9 billion yuan. Financial technology and enterprise services saw a 5% increase, reaching 54.9 billion yuan.
Operational data for the quarter showed WeChat and Weixin's combined monthly active users at 1.402 billion, a 3% increase. QQ mobile monthly active users decreased by 3% to 534 million. Paid value-added service subscriptions rose by 3% to 268 million. Long video paid memberships reached 117 million, while music paid memberships totaled 123 million.
