Finanz Informatik (FI), the central IT service provider for over 340 savings banks in the Sparkassen-Finanzgruppe, has renewed and expanded its collaboration with IBM (IBM, Financial). The newly signed contract aims to modernize FI's infrastructure through the integration of artificial intelligence (AI), automation, and hybrid cloud technology.
The agreement encompasses the deployment of advanced IBM mainframe, Power, and storage systems. Additionally, AI-supported software components from IBM's watsonx portfolio will be implemented. This will accelerate digital transformation efforts via the Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform, ensuring improved service delivery, enhanced cyber resilience, and sustainable IT infrastructure growth.
The partnership also emphasizes compliance with the EU Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA), focusing on cyber resilience and platform independence. Through this collaboration, FI aims to protect critical financial data and meet capacity growth while supporting the digital initiatives of the Sparkassen-Finanzgruppe.
