Apple (AAPL, Financial) is advancing its Vision Pro headset by developing a new "eye movement control" feature. This enhancement will be introduced with visionOS 3, scheduled to debut at the upcoming Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC). Currently, Vision Pro supports selection through gaze and finger gestures; the new feature will allow screen navigation via eye movement using existing eye-tracking technology. Apple's built-in applications will integrate this feature, and third-party developers can also adopt it, expanding its application scenarios.

Apple aims to revolutionize spatial computing with Vision Pro by infusing it with innovative features, despite it not yet becoming a commercial hit. The company is focused on enhancing user experience and ecosystem competitiveness through software upgrades. Alongside visionOS 3, other major updates anticipated at WWDC include iOS 19, iPadOS, and macOS, featuring AI-driven battery optimizations and real-time translation for AirPods.

In hardware development, Apple is working on next-generation Vision devices, including lighter versions and products suitable for low-latency applications. Smart glasses are also in Apple's pipeline, expected to run on the same OS as Vision Pro, expediting its AR market strategy.
