Tesla's Shanghai Gigafactory set a new export record in April, shipping nearly 30,000 Model 3 and Model Y vehicles. This marks the highest monthly export volume in the past year. The factory rapidly switched production lines to accommodate the refreshed Model Y, making it Tesla's fastest ramping model in terms of production capacity.
In the first quarter of 2025, Tesla delivered over 172,000 units of Model 3 and the refreshed Model Y from its Shanghai factory. The launch of the new Model Y captured significant market attention, breaking single-day order records in the Asia-Pacific region. Since the end of 2023, when Tesla began selling China-made vehicles in South Korea, the local market has seen a significant sales boost. Tesla's vehicle registrations in South Korea surged by 80% in 2024.
