Rhino Resources (OTC: RHNO) and Halliburton (HAL) have completed the delivery of the first two exploration wells on Block 2914 within Petroleum Exploration License (PEL) 85 offshore Namibia. This marks a significant milestone achieved entirely through in-country infrastructure, thanks to Halliburton’s newly established operational bases in Walvis Bay, Swakopmund, and Lüderitz.

Antoine Berel, vice president of Halliburton Sub-Saharan Africa, emphasized that this success is a testament to the power of combining world-class technology with local collaboration. The initiative aims to unlock Namibia's energy potential and support its growth as an energy hub in Africa.

Travis Smithard, CEO of Rhino Resources, highlighted that the discoveries on Block 2914 pave the way for developing Namibia's oil and gas industry. The focus is on knowledge and skills transfer, building local capacity, and uplifting young Namibians.

In October 2024, Rhino Resources and Halliburton launched the Rhino-Halliburton Technology Centre at the University of Namibia (UNAM) Southern Campus, enhancing geoscience education and research nationwide. This initiative reflects a long-term investment in Namibia's youth to cultivate future leaders in the energy sector.

Halliburton's collaborative approach with Rhino Resources in establishing a local-first model sets a new standard for future projects in the region, showcasing the significant value they bring to Namibia and the broader African energy landscape.
