  • Phase 1 to analyze key geological aspects to set groundwork for further exploration.
  • Project strategically located 20 km north of active Teck Resources Limited's copper deposits.

District Copper Corp. (DCOP) has initiated its 2025 summer field program at the Copper Keg porphyry copper project, located in the Kamloops mining division of British Columbia. The project covers 6,628 hectares and is strategically situated approximately 20 kilometers north of Teck Resources Limited's active porphyry copper deposits.

The multi-phase program begins with a preliminary reconnaissance of the entire project area. Phase 1 aims to differentiate various intrusive phases of the Guichon Creek Batholith, understand contact relations with the Nicola Volcanics, and examine alteration styles and mineralized structures. This analysis will assist in reinterpreting previous airborne and ground geophysical surveys, crucial for establishing a foundation for Phase 2 of the exploration program.

Jevin Werbes, CEO of District Copper Corp., expressed enthusiasm about the exploration's kickoff, emphasizing the integration of historical data into a pragmatic exploration model. This model is based on the porphyry copper deposits in the Highland Valley, poised to guide the planned exploration effectively in 2025.

Previously, the company had conducted mapping, prospecting, soil sampling, and geophysical programs. Results from these efforts support the presence of a porphyry copper system, indicating the project's robust potential.
