NVIDIA's (NVDA, Financial) CEO Jensen Huang announced the company is assessing strategies to navigate the Chinese market following U.S. government restrictions on selling its Hopper architecture H20 chips in China. Despite this, Huang stated that NVIDIA will not release an alternative version of the Hopper series for China, as modifications to the architecture are no longer feasible.

Earlier reports suggested NVIDIA might introduce a downgraded version of the H20 chip in China within the next two months. Huang criticized previous U.S. government regulations on AI exports, arguing they were misguided and should focus on maximizing the global impact of American technology.

In the fiscal year ending January 26, China accounted for $17 billion in NVIDIA's sales, representing 13% of the company's total revenue.
