Apple to Allow Alternative Voice Assistants for EU Users

Apple reportedly plans to allow EU users to set default voice assistants other than Siri, according to insights from Mark Gurman and Drake Bennett from Bloomberg. This change is anticipated to be implemented across multiple software platforms, including iPhone, iPad, and Mac devices.

If these reports are accurate, it means that EU users will soon have the option to choose Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant as their default voice assistant on Apple devices. This move is seen as a response to the evolving regulatory environment in the EU.
