Microsoft (MSFT, Financial) is gearing up to launch a new generation of AI assistants, named "Tenant Copilot," at its upcoming Build developer conference. This innovation reflects Microsoft's strategic move to deeply integrate AI into its enterprise services. Spearheaded by the Microsoft 365 team, Tenant Copilot aims to assist businesses in transforming their internal knowledge into AI assistants capable of speaking, thinking, and executing tasks.
Tenant Copilot will have access to and understand user data and workflows within Microsoft 365, featuring advanced AI technologies like supervised fine-tuning to mimic business communication styles, and OpenAI's o3 reasoning model for enhanced decision-making. An internal memo from Microsoft executive Jay Parikh highlighted that the company plans to release a public preview of Tenant Copilot at the Build conference, though specifics may change.
Microsoft's CoreAI engineering team is also developing market strategies to help large enterprises adopt AI-driven cloud solutions. A vision called "Agent Factory" was introduced, representing Microsoft's transformation into an AI-driven software factory, aiming to make AI agents digital colleagues for employees. The memo also indicated Microsoft is working on identity management for AI agents, ensuring secure user access similar to human users.
