Intel (INTC, Financial) has introduced the Arc Pro B50 and B60 series workstation cards, enhancing its lineup of graphics chips. These cards, priced starting at $299 and $500 respectively, are aimed at customers seeking alternatives to cloud-based AI processors from companies like Amazon (AMZN), Google (GOOGL), and Microsoft (MSFT). The workstation systems offer heightened security by processing data locally rather than in the cloud, providing instant access to powerful GPUs and higher customization.

The Arc Pro B50, with 16GB memory and supporting up to 170 TOPS, is designed for AI-assisted software engineering. Meanwhile, the Arc Pro B60 features 24GB memory and reaches up to 197 TOPS, targeting clients running resource-intensive AI applications. Intel's Project Battlematrix workstation system combines up to eight Arc Pro B60 GPUs, offering significant performance boosts.

With these releases, Intel is vying for a position in the AI workstation market, competing against NVIDIA (NVDA), which offers its RTX Pro AI chips and desktop systems. While Intel's B50 and B60 might not match NVIDIA's products in strength, they demonstrate Intel's commitment to regaining leadership in the CPU and GPU markets.
