NVIDIA's CEO, Jensen Huang, recently addressed several key topics, including AI competition and chip regulations, during an interview at Computex 2025. Huang criticized U.S. AI restrictions, arguing they are counterproductive and could cause the U.S. to lose its leading position. He emphasized China's significant role in AI, noting that half of the world's AI researchers are Chinese, and highlighted the success of products like DeepSeek.

Huang pointed out that competition is crucial for both companies and countries, acknowledging China's rapid advancements in AI. He noted the presence of Chinese researchers in prominent AI companies like Anthropic, OpenAI, and Google DeepMind. He also criticized the U.S. for not competing in China's vast developer market, which holds 50% of global developers.

Regarding chip regulations, Huang discussed the strict limits on NVIDIA's H20 chips under the Hopper architecture. He revealed that NVIDIA has already accounted for a $5.5 billion inventory write-down and foregone $15 billion in sales due to these restrictions. He stressed the importance of the Chinese market, which is comparable to Boeing's size, and dismissed the notion that banning H20 chip sales to China would hinder China's AI capabilities.
