NANO Nuclear Energy (NNE, Financial) has initiated a groundbreaking irradiation testing project in partnership with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Department of Nuclear Science and Engineering. This two-year collaboration aims to explore the thermal and radiolytic properties of nitrate molten salts, often known as "solar salts", to determine their potential use in advanced nuclear energy systems for thermal energy storage and cooling purposes.
Jay Yu, Founder and Chairman of NANO Nuclear, expressed pride in supporting this top-tier irradiation study at MIT. He emphasized that understanding the performance of molten salts under radiation is a critical piece in advancing next-generation reactor designs. This collaboration is pivotal as it enables the study of these systems without the involvement of nuclear materials.
