Infineon and NVIDIA Partner to Develop 800V Power Architecture for AI Data Centers (NVDA)

German chip manufacturer Infineon Technologies AG has announced a collaboration with NVIDIA (NVDA, Financial) to develop the industry's first 800V power transmission architecture designed for AI data centers. This innovative system architecture aims to significantly enhance power distribution within data centers. It will allow AI chips on server boards to perform direct power conversion, revolutionizing the framework for power transmission in accelerated computing data.

According to NVIDIA's Vice President of System Engineering, Gabriele Gorla, the new 800V HVDC system architecture offers high reliability and energy-efficient power distribution in data centers. This innovative approach allows NVIDIA to optimize energy consumption for its advanced AI infrastructure, aligning with its commitment to sustainability while delivering the performance and scalability required for next-generation AI workloads.
