- Astra Exploration (OTCQB: ATEPF) completes initial drilling at La Manchuria, Argentina, intersecting quartz veins in all 11 holes.
- Findings indicate thinning post-mineral breccia and favorable host rock conditions.
- Assay results expected by early June 2025 to guide future drilling plans.
Astra Exploration Inc. (OTCQB: ATEPF) has completed its initial drill program at the La Manchuria Gold and Silver Project in Santa Cruz, Argentina. The company drilled eleven DDH holes totaling 2,468 meters. Assay results from this program are expected to be announced in early June 2025.
The primary objective of this campaign was to test a new geological model aimed at extending high-grade gold and silver mineralization beyond the previously identified 2019 resource area. Notably, all drill holes successfully intersected quartz veins and/or veinlets with observable zones of mineralization. Another key discovery was that the post-mineral breccia is thinning towards the southeast, which suggests a thicker vertical horizon of rhyolitic tuff, identified as the most favorable host rock to date.
These promising preliminary results, alongside the anticipated assay data, will guide Astra in planning a follow-up drill program designed to further explore the potential of the La Manchuria site. Despite operational challenges posed by adverse weather conditions, the drilling program was completed on schedule, aided by Astra's dedicated team and partners.
