Motorola Solutions is reportedly in advanced discussions to acquire Silvus Technologies, a privately held radio manufacturer, for approximately $4.5 billion. According to sources, both companies could announce the deal in the coming weeks, although a final agreement has yet to be reached. Neither Motorola Solutions nor Silvus Technologies have responded to requests for comments.

Silvus Technologies, owned by private equity firm TJC, has been exploring various strategic options, including a potential sale or an initial public offering. The acquisition talks highlight Motorola Solutions' strategy to expand its portfolio in the communications sector.
