Laurent Freixe, CEO of Swiss food giant Nestlé, has announced a strategic shift back to the company's core business. After venturing into areas like health products, Freixe believes these expansions diluted the organizational structure. Appointed in September last year, Freixe expressed skepticism about streamlining the business portfolio in areas where Nestlé lacks competitive advantages. He emphasized that mergers and acquisitions should not be seen as a strategy in themselves.
In a recent interview, Freixe also mentioned that despite concerns over the tariff policies introduced by the previous U.S. administration, Nestlé's market share in the United States is gradually recovering.
