- Digital engagement in patient pre-registration is notably low among less satisfied patients.
- 50% of patients desire more control over their health records.
CI&T (CINT), a leader in global technology transformation, has released a new report titled "Patient-Centric Data Collection: 5 Findings and Opportunities for Every Healthcare Provider". The report highlights a significant trust gap among patients regarding data sharing and management within healthcare systems.
Key findings from the report indicate that satisfied patients, identified as promoters, are 45% more likely to trust their healthcare provider's data-sharing capabilities compared to unsatisfied patients, referred to as detractors. Furthermore, a 41% gap exists in the willingness to trust providers with personal data between these two groups, emphasizing the need for improved transparency and reassurance.
The report reveals that while 52% of patients are asked to pre-register online, only 46% comply. This gap is evident particularly among detractors, with only 39% completing pre-registration compared to 63% of promoters. Additionally, 60% of respondents reported having to repeat their medical details, undermining confidence in the accuracy and continuity of care.
Interestingly, 50% of patients indicated the need for more control over their records, reflecting a broader trend towards increased patient autonomy. Luiz Cieslak, SVP, Head of Healthcare & Life Sciences at CI&T, emphasized the importance of building trust through improved transparency, digital engagement, and granting patients more autonomy over their health information.
