OpenAI has unveiled the "Stargate UAE" project, marking the debut of its global AI infrastructure platform, Stargate. This initiative is a collaboration with companies like Oracle (ORCL), Nvidia (NVDA, Financial), Cisco (CSCO), and SoftBank. Announced as the first transaction under the "OpenAI for Countries" framework, the investment includes the development of a 1 GW Stargate cluster in Abu Dhabi. The cluster is expected to have 200 MW operational by 2026. Additionally, the project encompasses investments from the UAE into the U.S. Stargate infrastructure, further strengthening bilateral partnerships.
This deal could significantly enhance computational capabilities within a 2,000-mile radius, potentially reaching half of the world's population.
