Alibaba Group (BABA, Financial) has announced a strategic collaboration with SAP (SAP) to drive enterprise innovation and digital transformation using advanced cloud computing and AI technologies. This partnership combines SAP's enterprise software with Alibaba Cloud's robust and scalable infrastructure and AI capabilities. Alibaba Cloud has joined SAP's "Infrastructure as a Service" (IaaS) certification program to support SAP enterprise cloud solutions.
The collaboration initially focuses on the Chinese market, with plans to gradually expand into Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Africa. The partnership will help businesses implement SAP Integrated Business Planning and facilitate their transformation journeys with RISE with SAP and GROW with SAP. Alibaba Cloud is now certified as a hyperscaler for supporting SAP workloads, enabling enterprises to deploy SAP Cloud ERP and private cloud solutions on its infrastructure.
Additionally, both companies will develop joint market promotion strategies to offer scalable and intelligent solutions tailored to local needs globally. Alibaba plans to implement SAP solutions such as Business AI, Business Technology Platform, Ariba, Integrated Business Planning, SuccessFactors, Concur, and Emarsys to enhance its technological framework. The collaboration also advances enterprise AI integration, with SAP exploring connections to Alibaba's Qwen language model in China and deploying its AI platform, SAP AI Foundation, on Alibaba Cloud for Chinese customers.
