Ameresco, Inc. (AMRC), a leading energy solutions provider, has successfully initiated commercial operations for its solar PV canopy project in Reston, Virginia. Developed in partnership with BXP, Inc. (BXP), the largest publicly traded developer and manager of premier workplaces in the United States, the project exemplifies innovative clean energy solutions for urban settings.

This 1.3 megawatt (MW) solar photovoltaic system, mounted atop a downtown parking garage, is designed to generate approximately 1.5 million kilowatt-hours of renewable energy annually. The clean energy is set to benefit the Reston Town Center by offering competitive energy pricing and increased energy resiliency while minimizing dependence on the electric grid.

Ben Myers, Senior Vice President of Sustainability at BXP, lauded Ameresco's instrumental role in overcoming logistical challenges to bring this project to fruition.
