Ascent Solar Technologies (ASTI, Financial) has entered into a Master Services Agreement with NOVI Space, an innovative space firm from Virginia specializing in AI-driven satellites equipped with advanced edge computing capabilities. Under this agreement, Ascent Solar will supply its lightweight, rollable photovoltaic array blankets, which NOVI intends to deploy in its AI-edge processing satellite constellation set for launch in early 2026. This collaboration aims to enhance real-time Earth observation from space.
The agreement includes a provision for NOVI to share operational data on the solar arrays in orbit with Ascent. This data exchange will be instrumental for Ascent as it aims to improve and validate future products based on performance feedback, enhancing the company’s offerings that have been refined through extensive research and development tailored for space conditions.
