CenterPoint Energy, Inc. (CNP) has successfully restored electricity to approximately 152,000 customers following an intense spring storm in the Greater Houston area. The storm, marked by wind gusts of 60-70 mph, affected North and Central Harris County, Tomball, Bush International Airport, Kingwood, and Humble. Despite the severe weather, a vast majority of its customer base maintained power.

Currently, fewer than 15,000 customers remain without power, as more than 1,300 personnel and 143 vegetation crews have been deployed for damage assessment and power restoration efforts. These teams have been working diligently since midnight to ensure swift recovery and are preparing for additional weather challenges on the horizon.

In anticipation of predicted severe weather on Wednesday, CenterPoint has activated its Emergency Operations Center and is readying additional crews for rapid deployment. "Safety continues to be our highest priority as we work to restore power for our customers and communities," remarked Darin Carroll, Senior Vice President of Electric Business.

CenterPoint Energy encourages its customers to stay updated via its social media channels and Outage Tracker. The company also recommends enrolling in their Power Alert Service® to receive timely outage notifications and restoration updates, ensuring that customers are well-informed during such disruptive events.
