GameStop (GME) Stock Rises Following Bitcoin Purchase

GameStop (GME, Financial) saw its stock price rise by as much as 7.1% in pre-market trading after announcing its acquisition of 4,710 Bitcoins. This marks the video game retailer's first foray into cryptocurrency, following its earlier announcement in March to consider Bitcoin as a reserve asset. Based on current prices, GameStop's Bitcoin holdings are valued at over $513 million.

Bitcoin's price showed a slight decline of 0.6%, standing at $108,952.
