S&P Global (SPGI) has announced an expanded collaboration with Databricks, integrating a broader range of S&P Capital IQ Pro datasets into Databricks via the open-source Delta Sharing protocol. This development will enable users to directly access extensive datasets, including financials, estimates, filings, transcripts, transactions, and sustainability data, eliminating the need for data ingestion and thereby reducing duplication and latency.

This enhanced integration is designed to streamline data access and improve efficiency for investment, risk, and strategy teams by allowing direct querying of live datasets. Delta Sharing facilitates secure data sharing across platforms, clouds, and regions, maintaining strong data security and governance throughout the process.

This partnership builds upon previous collaborations, which integrated energy and commodities datasets from S&P Global Commodity Insights into Databricks. It reflects a strategic move towards data democratization, supporting financial institutions in leveraging insights more effectively and reducing the technical complexities traditionally associated with data pipelines.

By incorporating these additional datasets, S&P Global aims to bolster its competitive edge in the data marketplace while providing its clients with enhanced data analysis capabilities. The expanded partnership is part of a long-term strategy to continually enrich the data resources available via Databricks and Delta Sharing.
