Eos Energy Enterprises, Inc. (NASDAQ: EOSE) has successfully secured a strategic order with Faraday Microgrids to deploy a 3 MW / 15 MWh Eos Z3™ system for a commercial microgrid application located on tribal land in California. This initiative, partially funded by the California Energy Commission (CEC), aims to establish a renewable energy microgrid to enhance resilience for tribal facilities, provide crucial backup power, and achieve demand savings along with utility ancillary services.

This project marks Eos' eighth collaboration with the CEC and the second partnership with Faraday Microgrids, underlining the company's expanding footprint in California's vibrant energy market. It further strengthens Eos' commitment to delivering energy solutions manufactured domestically, emphasizing the reliability of their zinc-based long duration energy storage technology.

The microgrid is designed to optimize both backup power capabilities and grid services, such as demand savings, offering a comprehensive multi-value proposition critical for storage economics, especially for zinc-based systems competing with lithium-ion alternatives.

California remains the premier market for energy storage deployments due to ambitious renewable energy targets and the necessity for grid resilience. Projects like these underscore the importance of using domestically manufactured energy solutions, supported by current policy trends such as the Inflation Reduction Act, which incentivizes U.S.-made innovations.

Eos Chief Commercial Officer Nathan Kroeker commented, “This strategic project further demonstrates the performance and reliability of our Z3 systems in real-world applications. As a repeat order through our established partners at Faraday and the CEC, this deployment serves as a testament to the strength of our commercial relationships and reinforces our mission to deliver resilient, reliable and domestically manufactured energy solutions.”
