- Sirios Resources (SIREF, Financial) is updating its Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) for the Cheechoo Gold Project, with results expected in summer 2025.
- The new MRE will include an underground component, a first for the project, based on a cutting-edge geological model.
- PLR Resources Inc., led by expert Pierre Luc Richard, is conducting the MRE update.
Sirios Resources (SIREF) has announced an ongoing update to the Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) for its flagship Cheechoo Gold Project in Eeyou Istchee James Bay, Québec. The results of this significant update are anticipated in the summer of 2025. This update is based on a newly developed geological and structural model that has unveiled previously unknown structural controls on gold mineralization.
The forthcoming MRE will, for the first time, include an underground component, expanding beyond the December 2022 estimate. This addition marks a notable enhancement in the project’s scope and future resource development potential. The updated model was crafted with insights from top consultants in resource modeling and structural geology.
Renowned expert Pierre Luc Richard, leading PLR Resources Inc., is overseeing the MRE update. Richard has authored more than 100 NI 43-101 technical reports, demonstrating a wealth of experience and credibility in the field.
To offer further insights into the project developments and the update process, Sirios Resources will host a livestream event on May 28. This event will provide attendees with the opportunity to engage directly with the company and gain a deeper understanding of the Cheechoo Gold Project's potential.
The Cheechoo Project, entirely owned by Sirios, is strategically located less than 15 km from Dhilmar Ltd.'s Éléonore gold mine. It presents significant untapped gold deposits with considerable potential for expansion and development, affirming its status as a premier gold project in Québec.
