Tesla is set to unveil its highly anticipated Robotaxi service in Austin, marking a significant milestone in Elon Musk's vision to transform the company's business with autonomous vehicles and artificial intelligence. According to a source familiar with the matter, the launch is planned for June 12. Although the date has been internally discussed, it remains subject to change. Musk has previously indicated that the service would be operational by the end of June.
In preparation for the launch, Tesla conducted its first public road test of a driverless vehicle in Austin. A Tesla engineer was present in the passenger seat of a Model Y SUV during the test, which operated autonomously without remote control. Tesla has not yet responded to requests for comment.
