FuboTV Inc. (FUBO), a leader in sports-first live TV streaming, has announced the introduction of programmatic pause ads, a first in the Connected TV (CTV) landscape. This innovative ad format, powered by Magnite’s ClearLine self-service buying solution, enables advertisers to engage viewers in a programmatic biddable environment. Fubo's programmatic pause ads offer the flexibility of both programmatic guaranteed and biddable private marketplace executions, enhancing audience targeting and providing detailed post-campaign analytics.

These interactive pause ads, part of Fubo's continuous ad innovation strategy, are designed to engage viewers who pause content during streams, with the ad disappearing once the stream resumes. The inclusion of QR codes within these ads provides additional engagement opportunities for advertisers. According to Fubo’s internal data, these pause ads result in 33% more brand engagement compared to traditional video ads, underscoring the efficacy of interactive advertising formats.

"Offering pause ads programmatically represents a significant advancement in our ad innovation efforts," said Jennifer Hess, VP of global ad operations at Fubo. "With increased flexibility for brands to leverage our robust content lineup, programmatic pause ads are set to transform CTV advertising."

FuboTV continues to push the boundaries of live TV streaming, previously introducing 4K streaming, MultiView, and personalized game alerts. The programmatic pause ads align with Fubo’s mission to aggregate premium sports, news, and entertainment content, delivering an intuitive streaming experience to its subscribers across the U.S., Canada, Spain, and France.
