PPG Industries, Inc. (PPG) has announced a significant milestone as the first U.S.-based coatings company to obtain third-party certification for its internal tools used in measuring environmental impacts. The company’s product carbon footprint (PCF) measurement and life cycle assessment (LCA) processes have been validated according to internationally recognized ISO standards by WAP Sustainability Consulting.

In addition to the PCF and LCA validations, PPG’s environmental product declaration (EPD) process has also been certified by the International EPD System, the largest publisher of EPDs worldwide. These certifications allow PPG to provide customers with reliable sustainability data, aiding in reporting, procurement decisions, and qualifying for green building certifications.

This aligns with PPG's ongoing commitment to sustainability and enhancing customer value through environmental transparency.

PPG, headquartered in Pittsburgh, operates in over 70 countries and reported net sales of $15.8 billion in 2024. The company remains a leading provider of paints, coatings, and specialty materials across various industries, including construction, consumer products, industrial, and transportation.
