Health Net, a leading Medi-Cal managed care health plan, and the Centene Foundation, part of Centene Corporation (CNC, Financial), have announced a significant investment of over $7.2 million. This funding is directed towards expanding healthcare services in underserved areas of California through a fleet of mobile health clinics. The initiative, known as the Mobile Outreach for Value, Equity and Sustainability (MOVES) program, aims to provide preventative care and essential services directly to communities that need them most.

Grant recipients benefiting from this initiative include AltaMed, Community Medical Centers, Kaweah Health, and Vision y Compromiso. These organizations will deploy mobile clinics to offer preventative screenings, health education, and social services at community events and local parks, effectively overcoming common barriers to healthcare access such as transportation limitations and work-related constraints.

The $7.2 million investment is part of Health Net's larger effort to support Californian communities via over $158 million in funding from 2017 to 2024. Other notable investments include a $3.5 million grant to MLK Community Medical Group and over $9 million towards the development of California's physician workforce.

Health Net's focus on building strong partnerships with local healthcare providers aims to establish sustainable care delivery models and enhance trust within communities. Through these initiatives, Health Net and the Centene Foundation aim to drive long-term improvements in health outcomes across the state.
