Infosys BPM, a subsidiary of Infosys (INFY, Financial), has announced a groundbreaking advancement in finance and accounting services with the introduction of autonomous AI agents designed for invoice processing. This initiative is part of the Infosys Accounts Payable on Cloud solution, powered by Infosys Topaz, and utilizes Microsoft's AI stack including Azure AI Foundry and other large language models (LLMs).

The development aims to transition invoice processing from a human-driven, AI-supported model to an entirely autonomous AI-first approach. This shift promises to significantly enhance operational efficiency and accuracy in handling accounts payable operations. The AI agents are built to autonomously manage complex business scenarios, handle end-to-end workflows, and quickly adapt to evolving business logic with minimal human intervention.

Americana Restaurants, a leading operator with over 2,600 restaurants across the Middle East, North Africa, and Kazakhstan, becomes the first major client to implement this innovative solution. This collaboration serves as a strategic demonstration of the solution's real-world capabilities, showcasing its effectiveness in scaling operations efficiently and accurately.

The integration of Microsoft's AI infrastructure, including Azure's Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) offerings, positions this solution as an enterprise-ready tool capable of delivering scalable, intelligent processing capabilities. This development not only enhances invoice processing accuracy but also significantly reduces manual dependencies, providing a competitive edge in the industry.

Anantha Radhakrishnan, CEO & Managing Director of Infosys BPM, stated, "With the introduction of Agentic AI into Infosys Accounts Payable on Cloud solution, we are redefining what is possible in the finance and accounting functional domain. By integrating Infosys Topaz with a purpose-built multi-agent framework, along with Microsoft's AI stack, we've developed a solution that is autonomous by design, responsive to change, and built to evolve."

This strategic advancement underscores Infosys's commitment to pioneering digital transformation and stands as a testament to its leadership in the deployment of AI-driven enterprise solutions. As the company continues to innovate, it is setting new benchmarks for efficiency, accuracy, and scalability in the finance and accounting sectors.
