  • Quantum de México to enhance intermodal service amid growing demand for logistics solutions.

J.B. Hunt Transport Services Inc. (JBHT), BNSF Railway, and GMXT have unveiled Quantum de México, an intermodal service targeting service-sensitive freight delivery for businesses in Mexico. This new offering promises enhanced efficiency, effectively meeting the “just in time” freight needs of enterprises by ensuring a 95+% on-time delivery rate, which is up to one day faster than traditional services.

The collaboration, announced at the Congreso Intermodal de la Asociación Mexicana del Transporte Intermodal (AMTI) in Puerto Vallarta, marks a significant expansion of the US model launched by J.B. Hunt and BNSF in 2023. This initiative is designed to leverage the combined strengths and innovation of J.B. Hunt, BNSF, and GMXT, optimizing real-time tracking and minimizing shipment delays.

Quantum de México aims to reduce carbon emissions by enabling the conversion of traditional over-the-road (OTR) highway freight to rail intermodal. This move not only supports environmental goals by cutting carbon footprints by an average of 65%, but also boosts the service efficiency and reach of these logistics giants across key routes connecting major cities in both the US and Mexico.

Spencer Frazier, Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing at J.B. Hunt, praised the new service as a strategic advancement for businesses seeking economic and logistical efficiency. Additionally, J.B. Hunt has further expanded its operations in Mexico by opening a new office in Queretaro, underscoring their commitment to supporting growth and demand in the region.
