Thomson Reuters (TRI), a renowned global content and technology leader, has introduced its groundbreaking Agentic Intelligence, starting with the rollout of CoCounsel, designed specifically for tax, audit, and accounting professionals. Unlike conventional AI systems, this innovative agentic AI can plan, reason, act, and react within existing workflows to tackle complex tasks, setting a new standard in professional-grade AI applications.

CoCounsel is already operational and extensively utilized by major accounting firms, significantly enhancing operational efficiency. Before CoCounsel, tasks such as tax jurisdiction reviews took several days; now they can be completed in less than an hour. This reduction in time is a testament to CoCounsel’s ability to automate functions such as client file reviews and compliance checks, delivering outputs that are both transparent and actionable.

Thomson Reuters leverages over 20 billion documents and the expertise of 4,500 subject matter experts to support its Agentic Intelligence platform, further strengthened through key partnerships with tech giants OpenAI, Anthropic, AWS, and Google.

Future plans include expanding the agentic capabilities into legal, risk, and compliance domains with products like Ready to Review, an agentic tax preparation tool based on the GoSystem Tax Engine. This strategic move aims to redefine the landscape for professional-grade AI, underscoring Thomson Reuters’ commitment to innovation in professional services.
