Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella has clarified that the company's recent workforce adjustments, involving approximately 6,000 positions, aim to strengthen its AI-first strategy rather than penalize employees. The reduction is part of a strategic shift towards emerging fields and is not related to individual performance. Nadella explained that teams and resources are being realigned to support AI initiatives and accelerate innovation across Microsoft's product line.

In the Indian market, Microsoft is collaborating with Yotta Data Services to advance AI applications. This partnership involves working with participants of the India AI Mission, government agencies, the Indian Institutes of Technology, startups, and business organizations. Under the agreement, Microsoft will integrate its Azure AI services into Yotta's Shakti Cloud platform, providing tools for developers, enterprises, and the public sector to build AI solutions.

Puneet Chandok, President of Microsoft India and South Asia, stated that this collaboration is expected to unlock AI growth potential tailored to India's needs. Earlier this year, Nadella announced a partnership with IndiaAI to establish AI centers of excellence and productivity labs, promoting inclusive technology development.

Analysts suggest these initiatives highlight Microsoft's commitment to advancing in the AI sector, even if it requires reallocating talent and resources to acquire cutting-edge technological capabilities.
