Snowflake (SNOW) Plans to Acquire AI Startup Crunch Data

Snowflake (SNOW, Financial) announced its intention to acquire AI startup Crunch Data. The financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed, and it is subject to regulatory approval and customary closing conditions.

Following the announcement, Snowflake's stock rose by over 2%. The company's Senior Vice President of Engineering, Vivek Raghunathan, emphasized that this acquisition aligns with Snowflake's vision to provide the most reliable and comprehensive data and AI platform globally. He highlighted the significant $350 billion market opportunity and the demand from customers to integrate Postgres into the Snowflake AI Data Cloud.
