New data from the Norwegian Road Federation (OFV) reveals a significant surge in Tesla's (TSLA, Financial) car registrations in Norway, with a 213% increase to 2,600 vehicles in May compared to the same period last year. Despite a decline in Tesla sales across Spain, Portugal, Denmark, and Sweden, largely influenced by Elon Musk's aggressive political comments, Norway's market shows robust growth.

According to Christina Bu of the Norwegian Electric Vehicle Association (NEVA), the popularity of Tesla's Model Y in Norway is attributed to its affordability and ability to meet local preferences for large storage space, high ground clearance, all-wheel drive, and towing capabilities. ING's transport and logistics economist Rico Luman highlighted that Norway's strong incentives for electric vehicles have made them highly attractive, boosting Tesla's sales significantly. The introduction of the new Model Y is a key factor in Tesla's recovery in the Norwegian market, with more deliveries expected in June.
