Parsons Corporation (PSN) has been appointed as one of seven lead consultants for the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) expansion initiative by the City of Austin. The company will provide comprehensive program management services for the "Journey With AUS" initiative, a five to seven-year endeavor aimed at modernizing and expanding the airport. This project is crucial to meet the growing regional demands and enhance operational efficiency.
The scope of the expansion includes upgrades to the Barbara Jordan Terminal, the construction of new facilities, infrastructure enhancements, improved parking and ground transportation, and commercial development. This expansion is designed not only to increase capacity but also to maintain an authentic Austin experience for all passengers.
With more than 60 years of operations in Texas, Parsons brings significant expertise to the table, having previously worked on over 450 airports across 40 countries. This extensive portfolio underlines Parsons' capabilities in delivering complex infrastructure projects, aligning well with the strategic goals of the Austin-Bergstrom expansion.
The project is expected to provide stable long-term revenue for Parsons, while reinforcing its strong market presence in Texas. Despite the competition from six other consultants, the scale of this project provides ample opportunity for Parsons to further cement its role in delivering state-of-the-art aviation infrastructure.
