PayPal Holdings Inc. (PYPL) has unveiled a significant enhancement to its PayPal Credit service by introducing a physical Mastercard, issued by Synchrony (SYF). This new card enables customers to use PayPal Credit not only online but also in-store wherever Mastercard is accepted, extending the reach of PayPal Credit beyond its traditional online domain.

A noteworthy feature of the new card is a limited-time promotional offer targeted at travel purchases. Customers can benefit from spread payments over six months without any minimum spend requirement, providing a manageable payment solution for high-value travel-related purchases like flights and hotels.

This expansion comes as a response to customer demand for more flexible payment options in physical retail environments. The new Mastercard will complement PayPal’s existing financial offerings such as the PayPal Cashback Mastercard and Buy Now Pay Later services. The physical card will become available to US customers in the coming weeks, with eligible existing PayPal Credit customers receiving notifications regarding their card upgrade.

Furthermore, the new physical card can be integrated with mobile wallets, enabling seamless tap-to-pay transactions for modern consumers. This integration enhances convenience for users who prefer contactless payment options.
