China’s Passenger Car Market Information Association has released preliminary data indicating significant growth in the country's new energy vehicle sector. In May, wholesale sales of new energy passenger vehicles reached 1.24 million units, marking a 38% year-over-year increase and a 9% rise from the previous month. Cumulatively, the first five months of this year saw wholesale sales reaching 5.22 million units, reflecting a 41% annual growth.
However, Tesla China reported a decline in its performance. In May, Tesla's wholesale sales of new energy passenger vehicles totaled 61,662 units, showing a 15% decrease compared to the same period last year. This marks the eighth consecutive month of year-over-year sales decline for Tesla in China.
