In January 2023, Microsoft made a multi-billion dollar investment in OpenAI, leading to a deep integration of OpenAI's technology across Microsoft's product line. OpenAI, in turn, relies on Microsoft's Azure platform for part of its cloud infrastructure. Nadella also revealed that Microsoft earns revenue sharing whenever users engage with ChatGPT.
