Apple (AAPL, Financial) will host its 2025 Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in Cupertino, focusing on revolutionary software updates. This year, updates to iOS, iPadOS, and macOS will align more closely with the visionOS used in Vision Pro headsets. These changes, the most significant since 2013 for iOS and 2020 for macOS, include refreshed icons, menus, and app designs. Additionally, Apple will update its naming convention to reflect the release year, branding this year's system as iOS 26.

While AI might not dominate the event, Apple plans to introduce AI-driven features like an AI battery manager and real-time translation for AirPods. These innovations aim to enhance user interaction by optimizing power usage and facilitating multilingual communication. Moreover, Apple will unveil a centralized gaming app to bolster its gaming capabilities, showcasing a commitment to compete with traditional gaming consoles.

Despite AI not being the main attraction, the introduction of Apple’s large language model to third-party developers could spur new AI applications directly integrated into iPhones, reducing cloud dependency and potentially elevating Apple's ecosystem.
