NVIDIA (NVDA) has unveiled JUPITER, Europe's fastest supercomputer, hosted at the Jülich Supercomputing Centre in Germany. Equipped with nearly 24,000 NVIDIA GH200 Grace Hopper Superchips and NVIDIA Quantum-2 InfiniBand networking, JUPITER delivers over double the speed for high-performance computing (HPC) and artificial intelligence (AI) workloads when compared to Europe's next fastest system.

JUPITER marks a significant milestone as Europe's first exascale supercomputer, capable of performing 1 quintillion FP64 operations per second. It is expected to achieve over 90 exaflops in AI performance, further establishing NVIDIA's technological leadership in the high-performance computing sector.

Notably, JUPITER is recognized as the most energy-efficient system among the top five supercomputers globally, operating at 60 gigaflops per watt. This energy efficiency is crucial in addressing the power consumption challenges associated with supercomputing advancements.

The system is set to advance research areas including climate modeling, quantum computing, structural biology, engineering, and astrophysics.
